MAC MatchMaster Foundation Review

If you know me well enough, this should be no surprise to you that I am using a new foundation. I've always loved trying out new ones to see what I like and don't like. High-end and drugstore, I try them all.

If you remember from a past blog post, I mentioned I was using the Covergirl 3 in 1 foundation, which was amazing!

Now I've switched to a brand that I have tried everything else but their foundation, which is MAC. Lipsticks, blush's, and powders I am pretty familiar with when it comes to them, but foundation? Nope.

So I figured why not try out the MatchMaster foundation. I heard it was perfect for oily skin (which I have) and they had a wide range of colors to choose from.

Going on almost a month of using it I can tell you that without a primer, the foundation will still make you a little oily BUT this foundation lasts all freaking day.

I only have to pull out my blotting papers once a day which is a lot less than I'm used to.

One of my favorite things about this foundation is that the bottle is in pump form so its less messy and you don't have to worry about wasting product.

Basically, I like this foundation but am I in love with it? Not really. The coverage is really good but for the price I feel that it should be able to keep me oil free all day.

So if you are looking for a foundation with medium and build-able coverage I recommend it, and if you have oily skin, don't forget that primer!

Would I purchase it again? Yeah probably, but I have other foundations that I want to try first.
*I was wearing the foundation in this picture.

Top 5 Favorite Candles

My obsession for candles has been sooo real lately and I know I'm not the only one! Thanks to the combination of my bestie (hi Emily) and Bath & Body Works having their awesome sales on candles, I am always so tempted to just blow all my money. That was a little dramatic but you get the point.
So I thought it would be fun for me to share with you guys what my top 5 favorite candles are. They are all from Bath & Body Works too!

5. Tis the Season

4. Snowday

3.Watermelon Lemonade

2.Coconut Leaves

1. Marshmallow Fireside

All of these candles I totally recommend if you are looking for some new candles to burn around your house.
Of course I burn these scents according to season, but who says you cant burn Marshmallow Fireside during the summer?
If you have any suggestions on candles I should try, let me know!

Till next time

December Glam Bag review

It's the middle of January so I think now is a good time to do my December Glam Bag review... Whats new.
Anyways...this bag, I would have to say, this bag was a winner. It's been the first bag that I use every single product daily (except one which I'll explain)
My only complaint is the actual bag everything came in because it wasn't as cute as the other ones but they cant please everyone I guess.
This is what came in my bag last month:

If I had to pick one favorite though, that would be the Tarte Mascara. It separates my eyelashes just the way I like them, but when I use it with my Jordana mascara, my eyelashes are on point!

I also really enjoyed using the Pixi Dust. I used it as a highlight but I assume you could use it as an eye shadow too. It's that one color that I think would look beautiful on all skin types.

The NYX Lip Butter was very....buttery. I guess that's a way to describe it. Just a regular lip balm to me. The color I'm not sure I like on myself but I make it work.

Now the one product I still haven't tried out is the Cool Way Conditioner. Only because I always forget to put it in my shower and by the time I remember I have it, I am already in the shower.
But I promise I will try it soon and give an update as to how I liked it!

My January Glam bag should be coming soon so you could probably guess the review for that one probably wont be out till February. (My birthday month!!!) Better late than never right?

Don't forget to subscribe to Ipsy if you all have been loving these Glam Bag Reviews!

Hair Care!

Lets travel back in time a little bit where I talked about my hair, this is going to be an extension to that. Mainly about how I take care of my hair on a daily basis.

Before I continue though, after that first post I immediately got questions as to where I get my hair done. So I want to give all credit to Miss Linda at Simply You. (hi Linda) She has been doing my hair FOREVER and knows everything about my hair, so she is probably the only person I trust to do my hair.

With that being said Linda has taught me a lot of what I need to know about maintaining my hair especially with wearing weave. I have also learned a lot from YouTube and other bloggers. Thank god for them right?

First, moisture is soooo important. You never want your weave or your hair to get too dry because ladies, that's never cute. Especially when you use a lot of heat (like me). So hair oil is essential and your hairs bestie.

I recommend products like, Its a 10 Miracle Leave in Product, Organix Coconut Milk serum, and Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Hold and Shine Moisture Mist. All of which are super light and never leave your hair feeling or looking super greasy
& Always try to remember to use a heat protectant when applying heat tools!
DONT overdue it with the products on your weave because you don't want to weigh down your hair.

But that's when the shampoo and conditioner come into play. I live for the Organix products so you could probably guess that's the type of shampoo and conditioner I use.
For shampoo I use the Macadamia and conditioner I use Coconut.

Washing your hair is important but not something that you should be doing everyday. While wearing weave I recommend once a week.
Find a regime that fits your lifestyle and stick to it!

Remember, its also about what you put into your body as well; drink lots of water, stick to a balanced diet, and exercise on the regular. All of that helps your natural hair stay healthy
& that's it ladies!

How I style my hair might become a blog post in the near future so stay tuned!

But if  there is anything that I missed that you are still curious about, let me know! Always open to answering questions!

p.s go visit Miss Linda!

All About My Hair

Lets just get this out there....YES I wear weave and YES I love it!
I think its safe to say I am almost addicted to it because I have been wearing extensions/weaves probably since my junior year in high school and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

But first, before I get to the weave, I wanna say underneath this weave is my real hair and its actually pretty healthy (I will show a picture of my real hair the next time I go get my hair done) Its grown so much over the years and its a little past my shoulders now. Really thick, but I am aiming for more thickness. I do get my hair relaxed as well, which just means that I get a chemical put in my hair to make it straight for about six weeks.

For those of you that are not too familiar with African American hair I suggest you watch the movie Good Hair by Chris Rock. I made my best friend Allie watch it with me a long time ago and literally all her questions have been answered...or so I think. (Hey Allie!)

As far as my weave, I am currently wearing hair from Sheena's Hair Emporium. I love long hair so I chose the longer lengths in the Indian body wave texture. Let me tell you, this hair is the bomb. I've only had it in for almost three weeks, but this hair holds a curl so well! I'm talking days, and even after I workout, the curls are still there!
*This is the most recent picture of me rocking hair from Sheena's

Most hair that I order is more on the pricey side but they last the longest, so I think its worth it. Completely different from wearing hair from a beauty supply store, and trust me I know, because that was all I could afford in high school.

So if any of my ladies out there have been thinking about tying out weave or even just extensions I totally suggest you do! (yes there is a difference)
It gives you a break from your natural hair and lets it rest without you putting all that heat and product on it everyday.
By the way, your real hair gets braided up and braids=hair growth. Which is always a plus!

Can I also just mention, weave is not only for black girls, I have seen white girls rock weaves too and make them look beautiful!

Dont forget to check out Sheena's Hair Emporium and follow them on Instagram too!

I will do a hair care blog post soon so you all can see what I do to keep it healthy on the daily.

Fall Fashion

Its starting to get a lot colder where I live now (Texas) so I think this is the perfect time for me to share some of my favorite fall clothes that I have in my closet. In the fall, my outfits consist of leggings, boots, and scarfs most of the time because its obviously the best way to stay warm and still look cute!

So my first is an essential, and that's an over-sized sweater. Every girl needs one of these that you can just throw on with some leggings and BAM! Your're ready to take on the cold! Mine is from H&M and this mustard color is perfect for fall.

Next is my favorite jacket right now and have been in love with since I got it last fall. Depending on how cold it gets in your city you might not wear something like this but I do and I would wear it everyday if i could. I believe I got it from Forever 21 but I have been seeing these style jackets everywhere.

Of course every girl has their favorite pair of boots they love and mine happened to be a Christmas present from my mom last year. (hi mommy) They match with anything I wear this time of the year and I can tell they are going to be long lasting which is always a plus.

And last, you all could probably guess I was going to mention this scarf because I mentioned it in my fall favorites blog post so yes, my leopard scarf is a must for the fall. I literally wear this scarf at least once a week and that's only because I don't want people to think I'm crazy for wearing it everyday, because trust me, I would.

Now I wanna know what you guys enjoy wearing in the colder months!
